Sentient Computing’s technology aggregates data from various sources and provides the information to employees through a simple spatial interface. This enables informed decision making by offsite leaders, improves communication between sites and the field. By leveraging gaming technology and 3D virtual twins of a facility, Sentient can create complex and immersive content faster and more cost effectively.

Over the past decade, technology and infrastructure in the resource sector has accelerated, with most sites collecting vast tranches of data, and remote facilities increasingly connected to offsite stakeholders and decision makers.

A by-product of this rapid change is a shifting of responsibilities and core competencies across the workforce. Employees are expected to be upskilled quickly on new ways of working and new sites.

Sentient Computing’s technology addresses the challenges that come with the digital transformation of the sector – health and safety, communication and decision making between remote operation, and data accessibility across organisational silos.

It’s also leveraging gaming technology, to create complex and immersive content faster and more cost effectively than ever before. Employees can be immersed in a virtual work environment and undergo practical training to develop core technical competencies and site awareness before heading to the mine site.

Sentient’s digital interface, InDI, is a lightweight and scalable interface that puts customers in control of their own digital twin journey.

The technology aggregates data from all a company’s various data sources, legacy and new, and exposes this information to employees through a simple spatial interface. This enables informed decision making by offsite leaders. It improves the quality of communication between site and field and enables other Australian technology providers to expose technology solutions to a user base.

InDI is specifically focused on providing aggregation of legacy and new data streams. Its natural visual interface allows employees at all levels of an organisation to access critical information in a natural manner. It provides a facility- or asset- centric approach to accessing information.

The platform web interface encapsulates several viewports that display content dependent on the users’ requirements. Many of these viewports are built upon a 3D virtual twin of the facility, generated from engineering models. Sentient’s digital asset pipeline processes these input files and creates highly optimised models that allow for granular selection and differentiation, with pixel perfect rendering when required.

This 3D environment allows users to visually assess a facilities’ current state.

Additionally, users can search across metadata indexed from any number of customer data sources to find relevant equipment, documents, and live plant information.

Leveraging the same 3D virtual environment, Sentient creates blended learning experiences through eLearning, 3D animation and virtual reality platforms.

InDI is currently used by hundreds of employees at 4 Tier 1 resource companies in Western Australia.

Sentient champions local employment in the gaming sector. Its purpose is to ensure clients receive technical expertise and experience a collaborative approach to solving problems.
