Shift Diesel & Earth began as a small-scale side project, with founder Blaine managing a handful of invoices during his time off. The need for childcare services in their small town meant that his wife couldn’t return to teaching, prompting them to fully embrace and expand the business.

The real turning point came in 2023, when Shift Diesel & Earth evolved into a full-scale operation. The company expanded into mobile plant and equipment hire, doubled its staff by 2024, and converted 2 rental properties into staff housing to accommodate growth. The team welcomed a full-time administrator and an apprentice, while also investing in a custom-built trailer for remote air conditioning repairs.

Looking ahead to 2025, Shift Diesel & Earth is preparing for further expansion with the addition of two field service trucks and the recruitment of new team members. This continued growth is a testament to the dedication and adaptability of its workforce, who remain the driving force behind the company’s success.
